Long Island Research Facilities

Long Island is home to many of the world’s most famous research facilities, universities and medical institutions.

 

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is a world-renowned research and educational institution. The Laboratory has research programs focusing on cancer, neurobiology, plant genetics, genomics and bioinformatics, and a broad educational mission, including the recently established Watson School of Biological Sciences.

 

 

Brookhaven National Laboratory is a multi-program national laboratory operated by Brookhaven Science Associates for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Five Nobel Prizes have been awarded for discoveries made at the Lab.

 

 

Stony Brook University The Office of Scientific Affairs facilitates the performance and the continued expansion of the biomedical research enterprise of the University Hospital & Medical Center. The OSA seeks to optimize the success of its faculty in basic, translational, and clinical research, as well as in biotechnology and new technology/drug development.

 

  

Broad Hollow Bioscience Park, Inc. is a non-profit 63,500 sq. ft. biotechnology facility. The facility is comprised of an incubator wing that is home to start-up companies and the remainder of the facility is home to the research headquarters of OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. the anchor tenant for the Park.
